The Nelson Oak hidden home office is intended to allow you to keep all of your home office paraphernalia hidden away out of sight in a classic, modern piece of furniture. The desk is designed to be good to look at when it is not in use and comfortable when in operation.
The desktop of this version is 153cm from side to side and 60cm from front to back and it is set 72cm above the floor which is considered the normal height for an office desk, the central seating area is full height with no fiddly keyboard drawer or flip down to get in the way of your knees so this desk works well for users up to 6'2” tall. Two other standard sizes of this desk are available and we offer a custom version which can be built to any size (see the alternative product options listed below).
The right hand pedestal has a top compartment with an opening 40cm X 18cm and 45 cm deep which can house a small PC system unit or accommodate a laptop with ease, that compartment has a flip down front for easy access to DVD drives, USB ports etc, the back and sides of this compartment have vents to allow air to circulate around your PC. Under the PC compartment is a large cupboard that can be used to house a small printer, a stock of paper or other office equipment. The left hand pedestal has a drawer at the top and a matching cupboard underneath.
The whole back of the desk is hollow so cables cable be unobtrusively run between the three compartments without creating a dusty 'rats nest' of cables behind the desk and the desktop and cupboard backs are all removable to allow supremely easy set up of your system.
The desk is delivered in 4 parts that clip together using heavy duty steel connectors without the need for any tools at all.
Like all of the other items in our Nelson Oak range these desks are made by craftsmen in our UK factory from solid oak, engineered board and high quality panels with real Oak. The cupboard doors utilize the latest soft close hinge technology as do the high tech drawer runners and thanks to the installation of high quality metal ladder racks inside the cupboards you can decide the height of the shelves to easily accommodate your equipment. The drawer handles and cupboard door handles on this desk are of the highest quality, they add a very classy touch.
This Oak desk is normally shipped with a clear lacquer finish that brings out the grain of the Oak, but it is also available stained in almost any shade or painted if you add our 'Paint to Order' service to your order from the accessory product listings below.
You can choose either square bar handles or round knobs - both are shown in the gallery images, let us know which you prefer in he comments field on the order when you check out.
